Sex, Lies and Beauty Aids – Guest Review

Hi All! Cynthia D’Alba here! Happy Sunday! We’ve given the hard-working Heather Brewer the day off and have a guest reviewer. Paula Farrell is a member of my street team, D’Alba Diamonds (more information HERE if interested). When old friend Deb Julienne contacted me about her debut book and reviews, I offered it to my street team. Paula jumped on it and from her review, I’d say she really loved it!

Here’s Paula’s review:

Paula Farrell

Sabrina Thompson is a magazine columnist for Skin Deep, whose specialty is beauty aides and makeup tips, but that’s about to change.  Her friend and roommate Kat is ousted as Editor in Chief, replaced by her cousin, who the family feels can turn the magazine around, otherwise it’s going to be sold.
.
When the New Editor walks in Sabrina believes it is Trent, the guy she has been crushing on for 4 years, only to find out it’s Travis, his identical twin brother. Sabrina’s orderly work life really spins out of control when Travis informs her that due to layoffs, she now has 2 new columns to handle, Sex and Love, and her first articles are to appear in the February issue.
.
As a 24 year old virgin, she is overwhelmed with the thought of handling these issues, but the fun really starts when Travis (who is hiding his own secret) offers to help her out with her research. The two of them bond over mishaps with face masks, restaurant reviews, and chick flicks, but the closer they get the more confused Sabrina becomes, especially after spilling all her secrets to Travis, including her crush on Trent and her inexperience in the bedroom.
.
As Sabrina grows bolder in her attempts to research her article on Sex, she meets an adult toy store owner named Angel, and 2 of her regular customers, (2 little old ladies who steal every scene they are in),  that inspire her article and drive her to dig deeper into the subject at hand. When a visit to another store leads to her arrest, Sabrina’s new found feelings for her boss are almost destroyed, when the truth about Travis comes out, but instead of getting mad, she decides to get even.
.
Sex, Lies and Beauty Aides will make you laugh til your sides hurt, have you cheering for Sabrina to conquer her fears and go after what she wants (her boss’s sexy butt in her bed) , and when it ends you will be left wanting to know what happens next in the lives of the fabulous cast of supporting characters that swirl around her.
.
Deb Julienne’s book has it all, and will not let you down, but it might keep you up all night!
