Schools out for Summer!

Hey, isn’t that an Alice Cooper song?  LOL  Yep, I found it on YouTube. A link in case you’d like to listen. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgV8-Lh_c18

The truth is summer has been out for an entire month already! I can’t believe it. Where the heck did June go? I was supposed to finally find some time to slow down and relax. Looks like I would have learned by now that’s not how this life stuff works.

Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July celebrations. Lots of fireworks around here despite the rain. We aren’t considered inside the city limits, although we are a very populated area, so it’s like World War III over here every year. Both on the 4th and at New Year’s.  Lawn chairs in the driveways of almost every house. Kids of all ages, including the over thirty variety, running back and forth setting off the next firecracker from their stash of arsenals. I have no idea where my neighbors buy their fireworks, but some of them could compete with the displays put on by professionals.

It’s quite entertaining. LOL

Speaking of summer, I’d like to share my good friend and awesome critique partner’s new release with you. Tess St. John writes Historical Romance as well as Suspense. I love her books! The perfect summer reads! You can check them out here:  http://www.amazon.com/Tess-St.-John/e/B004WYAHXU/

And here’s the blurb to her newest Historical:

LC 300x200Tortured by memories of things he’s done and witnessed while protecting the helpless and saving lives, Mr. Silas Green relinquishes his post with the Royal Navy to fulfill his father’s dying wish by escorting his sisters to their mother’s Scottish homeland.

A bit in awe of Mr. Green, the man who rescued her from being sold into slavery, Miss Celeste Young also senses his soul-deep pain. When he asks her to become a companion to his blind sister and accompany his family on a journey, Celeste seizes the opportunity to escape London and the men eagerly seeking to become her protector.

The undeniable attraction between Silas and Celeste develops into a tender friendship. The more time they spend together, the more his torturous memories ease and his pain lessens. But dangerous secrets await them in Scotland. When Celeste’s life is threatened, it is up to Silas to save her or lose his last chance at love.

LAST CHANCE is Book 3 in the Chances Are Series. Each book stands alone, but might be more enjoyable read in sequence.

**As an added BONUS, you can grab a copy of the first book in the Chances Are Series, Second Chances, for only .99 cents! 🙂 But hurry! The great price won’t last long.

Share your favorite memory from a July 4th celebration! 🙂
