RT Pics and Bucket Lists

So I went to my first Romantic Times Convention in May and I went down with fellow ENALR Blogger Leah Braemel.

We decided to drive and I’m sure you read her post about Mixed Up Mike my GPS.

I won’t go into much details about how I feel about him. LOL

I will say it was fantastic to visit a city that has been on my bucket list for a LONG time and to meet so many people I talk to online or haven’t seen in a while.

I got to meet Keri Stevens and Cynthia D’Alba face-to-face.

Sorry for the weird smile. As soon as I crossed the

Louisiana State line my allergies went bonkers.

So when I met Cynthia I was high as a kite and very groggy.

Even though I was suffering in Louisiana, it was still a great experience. I had never been to a conference which was so big.

It was insane and a little too big for me, as I don’t like crowds, but I managed to pull it off.

And got to experience great southern food like BEIGNETS. YUM!

Beignets

The powdery goodness is something I won’t forget.

Maybe it’s good we don’t have them up here because I’m sure my butt would expand.

After Leah, Mary and finished with RT, we hit the road early morning on Sunday and headed straight for Memphis.

And I tackled the Twin Span to Slidell with no problem this time. Leah I think mentioned that we both can’t handle bridges. I think with this trip our fear was tested over and over again.

Anyways, we drove 6 hrs to Memphis and decided to take a break, not push 10+ hrs like we had been doing to get down to New Orleans.

Graceland is in Memphis and even though I’m not a huge Elvis fan, you can’t deny the hold he has on people or the call of Graceland and Beale Street.

I LOVED Memphis. I would go back to Nashville or Memphis in a heartbeat.

Elvis

I highly recommend Memphis for everyone’s bucket list.

We stayed at the Heartbreak Hotel which is across the road from Graceland. It was so kitschy

and fun. I have two Elvis t-shirts I now wear proudly …oh and a pair of gold Elvis glasses too.

Even though the trip was a blast, I was glad to get home to my kids.

I promised my daughter no crazy long conference again next year, though I am contemplating RAGT as it’s only 5.5 hrs from my place.

I stroked more States off my list and a few things off my bucket list too. Would I go to New Orleans again? Maybe, but next time I’ll fly and go with my hubby.
