Since my first book came out a couple of years ago, I’ve met some terrific authors along the way that I’d like to share with you.
One of those authors is Tell Cotten that writes award-winning Westerns. He was an editor at Solstice Publishing, and I followed him on Twitter and then Facebook prior to being published. One day he contacted me and asked me if I’d ever thought about submitting to Solstice and our friendship started from there.
Tell is really neat writer in that he lives the westerns that he writes. He’s a seventh generation Texan that works on an enormous cattle ranch in west Texas.
Another award-winning author that’s a friend of mine, is Marcia Tomasiello that writes Westerns under the name Juliette Douglas. Marcia resides in Kentucky and she’s one of the most down to earth gal’s you’ll ever meet. She’s got one heck of a sense of humor! I love the tales that she writes because you never expect the ending.
I met Elle Marlow on a barrel racing forum long before she was an author. Prior to getting the deal with Solstice, I had posted on the forum to see if anyone might be interested in reading my book, Lost Betrayal. Elle contacted me and said she had written a romance many years prior and asked if I would be interested in reading it. I was drawn in immediately and told her she needed to pursue it as hard as she could.
By the time my book came out just a few short months later in the spring of 2014, Elle had already made a top contestant in Harlequin’s SYTYCW contest, and had sold a couple of romances!
Elle has gone on to make the best seller’s list on Amazon several times, and has made top ten in the Preditors & Editors’ contest as well. She’s got a writing style that I can only describe as “hell on wheels”. Her characters are sassy, and they come to life right off the page.
If you get a chance, check out these three authors – I can guarantee you won’t regret it!
