Happy Labor Day! Can’t believe it’s here again already.Time flys when you’re having fun. LOL Hope everyone gets a chance to sit back and enjoy the day in some form or fashion.
Planes, trains and automobiles.
Motorcycles, scooters and bicycles.
There are so many ways to travel, so if I prefer one over the other that doesn’t make me weird, or a scaredy cat, right?
Since marrying my hubby over 23 years ago, I’ve had to grow up quite a bit and experience many things I never would have if he hadn’t entered my life. For the most part, I’m thankful for that little fact. I knew there was something special about this man when he invited me to his family’s home in Houston, Texas for their annual Christmas party and I said yes, even after finding out the only way I could make it there on time was to fly out of the very small airport where I lived. In a pretty bad rain storm, I might add. On a small plane with three seats in each row and a propeller. The ride was so rough the stewardess didn’t even get out of her seat the entire ride. Yep, pop, bubble and sparkle like electricity that’s what hubby did. (Love the Big Bang Theory. LOL Heard Leonard say it and had to use it.)
Flash forward to 2013 and although I’ve flown when it’s absolutely necessary, I still hate it. With a passion. Now with hubby’s new job, I’m required to accompany him on several trips during the year, which is bad enough. This Wednesday I will be doing just that, but I’m filled with a bit more anxiety since he will be staying behind in Denver for a few days, and I must fly back all by myself. Gulp.
Never done this before. Gulp… Over forty and still growing and experiencing new things. I guess that’s a good thing, right? Keeps me young? LOL
I’ve got two books ready to go, my music playlist updated, gum and a big bottle of Advil in my purse. Heavy sigh. I can do this. Yes I can!
August has been one crazy month with all kinds of new adventures and more on the horizon. Kids back in school and everyone doing great so far sure helped lift a load of worry off my shoulders. So now it’s on to September. What will I do with myself while the house is so quiet?
Write! Write! Write!
Oh, and chase after this crazy dog! What is it about sprinklers that drive some dogs over the edge? You’d think we were being invaded by aliens the way she sets out to attack and conquer. At first, I was fine, even enjoying her funny little antics until she decided to try and dry herself off in the dirt. ACK!! I don’t know what was funnier. Her chasing the water, or me scrambling over chairs and water hoses to get to the back door before she could make it to the doggie door and head to the couch. LOL
Well at least there will never be a dull moment, right?!
