December 1, 2015
As it’s December 1st, I feel I can talk about Christmas! I ignore the mince pies in the supermarket that are sneaking in now from September. I ignore the Santa parade that is mid November but once we hit December 1, I’m in!
This weekend we had a family wedding in Melbourne, which is the captial of my state and a city of 4 million people. So a big city with a big budget and it has some awesome Christmas decorations. In between the wedding and the reception, we were a bit like the Pied Piper. DH, Boy Wonder (17) and I took the children of the other guests down to the Lego Christmas tree while the adults hit the bar. I love Lego. Adored Legoland in California years ago when my boys were little and Lego still features as Boy Wonder loves the architectural range and the Creator range.
This tree is the height of a two story house and as wide as a car. It was mostly made out of Duplo and we loved the Aussie touches. There is an Elf playing cricket and here is the cheeky Kookaburra 🙂
In celebration of the season, I’d love to gift all the Everybody Needs A Little Romance blog readers a short story. JUST DELECTABLE, is a bit of fun and it also features one of my favourite Christmas recipes.
Love and a recipe! Annie Higgins is stuck working in the deep freeze of the Port Frazer fish co-op earning money for her semester at Cambridge. She never wants to see another prawn again. While she’s filleting fish, she’s dreaming of sunshine and building castles in the air. Little does she know that the prawns she detests are the key to romance and adventure
It’s available FREE in all eBook formats at Smashwords, as well as free at iBooks, Nook and Kobo. Sadly, Amazon won’t price match it for free so if you have a Kindle, please grab the FREE mobi version at Smashwords and side load it or email it to your Kindle.
I have a January 1st release, A Daddy for Baby Zoe, which is a story full of family and navigating the fine line between duty, responsibility and chasing dreams. It’s up for pre-order now and I have two gorgeous covers for it. Do you have a fave?
I’d love to know what your favourite Christmas recipes are 🙂
Wishing you all a happy festive season. Fiona xx
