Are You An Online Shopper?
As I was thinking about what to write about, I decided to check my email in case there might be something important there…like a note from my editor. No such luck. However, online stores certainly have my email. Here is who is trying to sell to me this morning...

These are just the ones I got this morning. And it’s not unusual for me to get coupons from Applebee’s, Rudy Tuesday and IHOP via my email.
How did they get my email address? I ordered from them at some point. A lot of my house renovation supplies came from online orders. I love online shopping. No, I don’t look at these every morning when they hit my box. Most of them go directly to the trash.
So what sales pitches do you get every day? Got a great shopping site I’m missing?

In my inbox is an email trying to sell me the Spartacus workout. But since that can’t possibly involve or allow for underwire, I think I’ll skip it.

The Spartacus workout? ha! You’ll notice in my link none of them are exercise related! I also get emails from David’s Cookies. My email box knows me well. Those demon exercise emails go directly to spam!

Wow! I scroll to the bottom and hit unsubscribe for the ones I’m not interested in. I love shopping online too, but I hate getting daily emails afterwards. Amazon and B&N hit me almost every day. Annoying, but I like to see who they’re pimping.

I need to do that, Gwen. Sometimes I fear that by unsubscribing, I’m actually confirming that the address is a “good” one!

I try to make sure to opt out of e-mails when I shop online, and if I miss them, I’ll unsubscribe when I get too sick of hitting the “delete” button. I get the following:
Kohl’s (reminding me daily to get my 15% off)
Staples (full of coupons I’ll never use)
Best Buy (daily deals I need to unsubscribe from now that it’s no longer Christmas)
Groupon (which I keep allowing because 1 in every 72 is something I can use)
SweetJack (which used to be Half Price 717 which used to be Half Price Harrisburg which used to have half-price tickets to the City Islanders soccer games, but which I’ve never used since)
And, of course, Amazon. I don’t get B&N stuff for some reason, though they definitely have my e-mail address.
I like this topic! It shows how different we are, Cyndi! LOL

Groupon stopped sending to me, which is fine. I think I bought from them twice, but most of the “deals” were things I had no use for.
I get Amazon and sometimes get Barnes and Nobles, but I delete everything so fast I have no idea if there is something good or not.
My pledge is that I WILL start hitting unsubscribe on all these tomorrow!

Oh, boy. great subject, Cyndi. I remodeled my kitchen a while back, and I get:
Great post!
Restoration Hardware
and now my mind has gone blank but the place where I bought my bathroom mirror.
I clicked on Bow Flex at their new exercise equipment, and now that machine follows me around everytime I log on the Internet. Do you know how that feels? It’s like being hounded by Big Brother, one that says, Hey, you, you need to lose weight!

I get some of my links from my renovation also. But I need to get rid of them. They are junking up my box!
and HAHAHAHAHA on Bow Flex hounding you.

I am trying to wean myself off WOOTs but they have such great deals! One bit of Google marketing, which works against the advertiser is the stalker cookie. If I look at something on Amazon or Overstock, say sheer curtains… every web site I go to for the next few days shows the sheer curtains in the banner ads. So, funny, I just ignore them because I already either bought them or changed my mind. The only time that backfires is when I search for a gift for FIL and then have the oddest ads appearing.
LOL on being stalked by BowFlex! I get stalked by diet recipes sometimes and since I am usually shopping during lunch it does feel like bog brother!
