What’cha doing?
I feel like my hand has been under a rock for about a month, so tell me, what are doing? What are you writing on? Reading? Too busy doing anything else?
Over the past month I’ve worked on a couple mysteries, the last roughneck book and this week a full length contemporary. What’s on your plate?

I’ve been in the writing cave too. I just finished the first draft of the 9th book in the Hot Nights in St. Blaise series and plan to start a short story today. I just need to get through today, and I will be on vacation for a full week. I plan to eat, sleep, write, lather, rinse, repeat. I know you’ve had a crazy August writing schedule. I hope you’re pleased with the way things are going.

I’ve been working, but not enough. Getting distracted by the bright shiny things in the retirement world. But I did the math the other day, and I need to crank 1k words a day until December to meet deadlines.
So I’m shouting to you from the cave. Here the echo?
Aug 29, 2012 @ 14:32:37
1k is easily doable, no? As long as you hide the bright shiny.

yep. Dittoing Natalie. 1k a day is EASY. just stick to it. if you have to, 500words in the morning–retirement play–500words in the evening!

I practically took the entire summer off from writing. Wish it was for fun reasons, but bunions are never fun.
Kids are back in school now, so I’m working double time on edits for the third book in the trafficking series that should have been sent out to the editor already. Then I hope to move on to something light and fun.

Did the break refresh your brain, though?

yep. dittoing Natalie again and asking the same question lol
the break feel like a refresher? I always hate getting thrown off my plan like that, but when I get to restart there’s a surge pushing me it feels like!

I’m in fairly constant edits (literal and virtual, with my brain unable to get away from it) on a short story I just sold. Also trying to finish Sunroper, the third book of the Goddesses Rising trilogy.
Reading a bunch of stuff, but having trouble getting my attention fully caught up. Maybe because I’m immersed in Doctor Who (went back to the beginning!) in those end-of-day hours when I’m fully brain-dead.

I’ve heard to stay away from Dr. Who, that it could do that to you! Usually about the time I finish writing something, I’m ready for the change into editing again. As soon as I finish these projects, I’ll be on to writing book 2 of my Borrowing Trouble series. looking forward to getting back with those characters!
