Detoxing Fibromyalgia

Last night I picked up those Kinoki foot pads to detox your body. I was thinking with all these problems I’ve got going on, a little detoxing would hurt, right? RIGHT. I take 2 Aleve everynight and sleep on a heating pad so that I can get some rest around my aching knees.

So with a positive outlook (because I figure thinking negative might taint my experiement) I stuck on the pads and had one of the best nights of sleep ! I took the 2 Aleve, but not once did I reach for that heating pad. Not once did I wake up in the middle of the night. I actually woke up BEFORE my son, which is freaking amazing here lately because he’s been getting up around 6:30.

Next morning, my pads were icky, yucky looking and the bottom of my feet were gooey feeling. But I wiped that off with ease. I did a little internet searching and came across some forums promoting a different kind of site, Purify Your Body. Her pads seem to be a lot better and don’t have any filers. Money spender that I am, I ordered me a 20 pack immediately. They haven’t come in the mail yet, but as I go through these patches, I’m going to post my progress and let ya’ll know how it goes!

Be sure to drop back in to see my updates. In fact, I recommend you bookmarking me ;) . Have you come across anything that promised something and it delivered…or didn’t? I’ve had my eye on those Aqua Globes for a while now.

  1. Keri, I will be following your journey. Please let us know if you have some success. Wouldn’t it be fantastic for you and the millions of people who suffer from this disorder. Off the top of my head I know four other people who suffer from FM. So, does the goo get all over your bed and sheets, and do you have to wash them every morning? I’m also curious why you take Aleve instead of Advil?

    Good luck!

  2. Sounds interesting. I’ve seen those advertised and thought about checking them out. I’ll be following your progress!

Congrats on the new blog! Have fun!

  3. Hey, Donnell. Thanks for stopping in. The goo is nicely contained. There’s a smaller pad that you stick to a large band-aid sort of patch. This patch keeps all that gunk safe from your sheets. I probably wouldln’t be using them again if it did get everywhere!

I use Aleve because it’s what my doctors told me to take :) . I don’t know if it’s supposed to be better or if it’s a don’t mix Advil with my other medication sort of thing. One of my doctors is worried about arthritis, so that might be part of the reason. Isn’t Aleve a good arthritis medication?

  4. Morning, Shayla. I’ve seen them on tv and tried to order them through Amazon, but they wouldn’t ship to the states. I just happened to walk past a table with them sitting on it in wal-mart! My I’m going to shoot for my next update to post on Thursday, so do stop back in….I managed to get the hubby to put them on!

  5. Very interesting. I always wondered about those detox foot pads.

I love your new look on the blog. Still tweaking? :)

  6. Hey, Cyndi. I’m a big sucker for buying things on tv. I used to stay up late on school nights watching infomercials and waiting until I turned 18 to order all cool stuff! i had a wild set of teen years, huh?

thanks on the look. Yeah, still tweaking. I finally got a banner and name of the blog that I like. Took forever. Wish I could do 2 colomns of stuff over there on the right, but haven’t figured that out yet!

  7. Yay! Congrats on the new blog, Keri. It looks like it’s off to a good start. :)

  8. Thanks, Cora. I’m trying to be fresh. Boy does that sound like a throw back to the early 90′s? Thanks for stopping in!

  9. Hey, Keri – nice blog. Saw GMA do a rating on the things they sell on infomercials. They gave those pads a c+ I think. Don’t know much about them other than that. Glad they are working for you though. I will check back and see how you are progressing with them.

    Love the blog!

  10. Hi, Amy! I’m finding a lot of negative stuff about them on the internet. Most of what I’m finding is from people that I don’t think has even tried them. So far, they’re doing good for me, whether it’s the product or in my mind, they’re doing something so worth the money for me!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  11. Oh, I got my mom those Aqua Globes. They really work! They do dry out kinda quickly and need refilled quite often, but they work!

  12. Oh, they do work! Thanks, Gemma. I’ve got one plant. It either gets overwatered or underwatered, the poor thing. My hubby gave it to me for our first year anniv and I don’t want it to die!

    thanks for stopping in!

  13. [...] These in the photo are NOT mine, but my used ones were VERY similar to mine when I pulled it off. As you can see by comparing to my last one, much nastier. I guess you could say the proof is in the [...]
